The title of this post may seem a bit difficult to interpret, but it was the best way that I could portray the importance of having someone that is always there for the cancer patient.
It is vital that you have that someone to lift your spirits when you are feeling down. Someone to motivate you to not give up and to keep going when you feel terrible inside, and someone to be there when you need them most of all. Someone to accompany you to all doctor appointments and testing, and someone to take notes at appointments so that you understand completely just what your doctor has said.
Just as the song says "I Want to Stand With You on a Mountain"......yes, that's just what your shadow person will do.
